True we are not the Kardashians - but the Martinez are on the move (we hope!)
Today is a big day at the Martinez household as life will probably change for for the better.
Before we get into that however, a big Happy Third Month Birthday to Andres - who reached that important milestone yesterday! The little guy likes to giggle and sing. He also tried to crawl his way out of tummy time yesterday desperate to get back into a cradled position in my arms. Poor thing . . .
And Adrian, well let's just say he is having a tough time adjusting to his new school. Today marks the end of his first week at his new Montessori school, Lectura. While the Director and the teachers are so nice and compassionate and patient, there are some things that are definitely lacking at this school that he had at his other school. For example, order, organization and encouraging his independence. Here they make his bed for him, parents put shoes on their kids at the drop off, and the shoes are in a disarray such that Adrian actually has to look for them under the coats when they should be neatly lined up in an easy to reach place. He's had at least 1 accident every day there and sometimes up to 3! This is not normal for a boy who hasn't had one in three months at home. We are being patient and hope this is just a period of adjustment.
So back to Monitoring the Martinez Move -
1) Today at 4:30, we are scheduled to sign a one year lease for some tenants (four college girls) to move in to our home starting June 1- let's hope they don't back out!
2) This leaves us free to move to another home, city, even state. I have already asked my boss if Austin, TX is an option and he said yes. However, that would require Luis to quit his job and find another one there.
3) I have a phone meeting with the person at my job who is responsible for locating a project and there is a big chance my next project is a work from home job for 4 months - let's hope that works out
4) And finally, Luis has an interview today with a large international market research firm in downtown Chicago. If he gets a great salary offer by April 18 - we may forgo Austin and stick to the Chicago area. Either way, it would be a win/win.
Say a prayer that all these changes are not too much for the kiddos.
Love,
Isis
